Today, we achieved an important milestone in preparing for our upcoming trip to Northern Europe: we completed our missing vaccinations.
One crucial vaccination we received was for Tick-Borne Encephalitis (TBE), known as FSME in some regions, which is especially important when traveling to areas where ticks are prevalent.
In addition to TBE, other recommended vaccinations for travelers to the Baltic and Scandinavian regions include Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, and Influenza. Hepatitis A and B are vital as they protect against liver infections that can occur from contaminated food and water, or from contact with infected individuals. Influenza vaccination helps protect against seasonal flu, which is common in colder climates.
Next to vaccinations, international travel requires decent preparation including visa topics, checking local laws (e.g. snow chains requirement for Norway basically the whole year), and ensuring all necessary documentation is in order.
This vaccination centric task is now checked off our list, making us feel more secure and ready to embrace our adventures up north.
Next Monday a visit to Twiga - our RV building company - is on the schedule. We will provide an update on our rig with some new photos next week.
Safe travels to everyone!
As a side note ... For those which tried to register on travel-fomo.com and failed. I did find a bug in the on-boarding process, which resulted in non delivered invitation emails. Sorry for any inconveniences caused.
