As our travel rig is currently in the final stages of completion, and we're still grounded, we're making the most of our time by soaking in experiences close to home. One such memorable evening was the 40th-anniversary concert of the album „Bochum 4630“ from Herbert Grönemeyer, held at the legendary Ruhr Stadium in Bochum.

For three exhilarating hours, we joined a lively crowd to relive the soundtrack of our youth through Grönemeyer's music, a collection of hits that echo through the eras of our lives. His songs, from poignant ballads to upbeat tracks, filled the air with a mixture of nostalgia and joy.

Among the standout moments was the beloved song "Bochum," an ode to Grönemeyer's hometown, portraying it with warmth and simplicity, devoid of glamour but brimming with heart. This song has always resonated deeply with locals for its honest depiction of the city’s down-to-earth charm.

Another highlight was "Männer," which playfully critiques male stereotypes with humor and witty observations. Its catchy rhythm and relatable lyrics have cemented it as a fan favorite over the decades.

We also enjoyed "Das Steigerlied," a traditional miners' anthem of the Ruhr region. While not originally by Grönemeyer, its inclusion was a powerful nod to the area's mining heritage, stirring a sense of pride and collective memory among the audience.
